Relay 2005 will be held on May 21st & 22nd 2005 at the Barker Central School Track Plans for Relay 2005 are already well under way. The Awards night was held at DeWitt Clinton School on September 27, 2004. More than 30 teams were honored for their outstanding efforts on behalf of the American Cancer Society. THE KICKOFF WAS A BLAST! Thank you Anna Merritt School for the use of your facilities. Great food, great fun, & great information was shared. This year's Honored Survivor, Pam Owen, was introduced. Pam's story is touching. She has been a part of Relay for a long time. You will be moved when you hear what she has to say. You'll recognize her the minute you see her. Many exciting plans are in the works for this years' Relay. I can't spill the beans, but Jane Dent has been busy as can be lining up some really great entertainment. There's a new event coming to Relay that I can't wait to see - it's one you won't want to miss - I wish I could tell, but I promised... Our new Children's entertainment team has been busy as well. They've lined up some really fun activities to keep the little ones entertained. Some new ones & some returning favorites. If you are a cancer survivor that has not contacted us, but plan to walk in the Survivors Lap, please let us know so that we can be sure to have a welcome gift ready for you. You are very important to us. You are the reason we are here! Please contact Kristin Wasnock so that she can be sure that she has your information. If you haven't started, but would like to get involved, there is still time. Contact any our Team Coordinators Darlene Lutz or Colleen Fryer, either of our Co-chairs, Kristin Haight or Jane Dent or e-mail me & we'll be glad to help get you started. |
