Pizza Wings & Things is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Pratt Elementary School Reading ProgramArticle courtesy of Bill Cameron, Publisher of The Banner Outstanding readers at Pratt Elementary will receive a tasty free reward courtesy Pizza,Wings & Things of Barker. The local restaurant has traditionally been supportive of Barker students and activities, and this year they will work in conjunction with the school to offer an incentive for those who show an outstanding effort in the area of reading. Each elementary teacher has been given a total of 12 free personal pizza certificates. They will be given to a student in each classroom who is determined to be the outstanding reader of the month. Two extra certificates were included for special rewards to be determined by teachers. Jacki Galeas of Pizza, Wings & Things said, "It is an honor to be able to do this for the children at Pratt Elementary School. As a local business, we are committed to helping our local children achieve success." She added, "We hope this incentive will encourage them to continue to improve their reading skills." The thematic unit for the year at Pratt Elementary School is "Reading Express." Principal Sandra Klimas said, "We are very thankful for the commitment made by Pizza, Wings & Things. Their continual support of our children in these creative and unique ways certainly builds a strong sense of teamwork and community."
